Tonight, Yolanda and I had our first studio class at Core Athletic and OH MY GOSH…that class is AMAZING (our teammate, Sue, had a prior commitment tonight, but she’ll be in for the next weeks – I’m clearing her calendar)!! Our instructor, Allison, was awesome! The class kicked our butts in such a good way. It’s one of those feelings where every fiber of your muscles are screaming in pain – but you love it because you know it’s working. Even the music was fun to move to. Everyone in the class was so welcoming to us and made us feel like part of the family! I can’t wait to go back next week!

I met Alison 3 years ago, after she came recommended to me by another trainer. I have had the privilege of doing personal training with her and adore her
Strength Fusion class. No work out with her is ever the same and guaranteed to be a challenge, which is why years later, I still can not get enough!
Alison will take the time to get to know you personally and tailor your work out around your goals and abilities. With a simile that is contagious and a positive attitude, she will support you when things get tough and celebrate your successes. She will gently nudge you beyond what you thought you were capable of doing. Just when you feel like you can not do another, she will share a personal story, news story, or a health and fitness tip, to take your mind off of what you are doing. Before you know it, you will feel worked, stronger, and empowered!

I feel very lucky to have stumbled across a class that keeps me challenged and motivated, all thanks to instructor Alison McWilliams. I think what keeps me going back to Alison’s strength fusion class is her unique way of making everyone feel welcome and the fact that she never ceases to amaze me with the different moves and ideas she brings to class. I feel constantly challenged and I am doing things I never thought I could do, yet Alison encourages you to focus on yourself and listen to your body. I recently completed my first full marathon and I feel like Alison’s strength fusion class prepared me both mentally and physically to succeed at that goal. There are many things that make Alison’s classes special, unique and effective. Most importantly, she challenges me to do things I never thought I could do and I love that. Alison gives me the confidence to know that I can do a few more push-ups, try a heavier weight, or jump just a little higher. She challenges, but also supports and that’s an effective combination. My journey to improve my relationship with food and to develop a healthier life started many years ago. I can
wholeheartedly say though that my work with Ali has taken my passion, understanding, and commitment to a completely new level.
The thing that I appreciate most about Ali is that her enthusiasm and zest for life are SO contagious! Personal training with Ali was the best thing I did for myself. I belong to a club and have been doing the same routine for many years, I was getting bored and wanted to kick it up a notch. I trained with Ali in June and July and it was amazing. Ali customized my workout to fit my needs and to help me reach my goals. I learned so much about how to incorporate different muscle groups and exercises that worked every muscle in my body. Ali is such a positive person, she is very motivating, she encourages her clients to listen to your body, think positive and work to your potential it makes a person just want to do as much as possible. I starting taking her classes in August and love the classes, she incorporates cardio with strength training, when you leave you feel great. I first met Alison in 2006 when she was teaching at a popular health club in Madison. I had a week pass to try it out, but one class with Ali and I was hooked! I was so impressed with her ability to make a class with 50-60 people seem so personal. She took the time to learn everyone’s name, and gave each individual an acknowledgement during class, without fail. For me, that type of attention and positive reinforcement helped me push myself harder than I ever had in terms of working out, creating a routine, and staying committed to it.
One of the things I love most about Alison is that she sees the “big picture.” Too often, instructors and trainers focus solely on the physical aspect of being “fit.” But Alison realizes the importance of emotional and mental health as well. One of her favorite sayings is, “A Strong Mind Equals a Strong Body,” and in working with her over the last four years, I have learned how true a statement that is.
I believe people come into your life for a reason. For me, Alison has been an amazing source of strength, encouragement, and friendship. Her positive energy has been a light that has brought so many wonderful women together to help support and care for one another. I never thought I would love working out, but Ali changed that. She is a born leader and an extremely gifted woman. Personal training with Alison was such a gift. I’ve spent over a decade going to classes and trying to do cardio and lifting on my own at other gyms, but I never could get into weight training and in general hated it. After a long time without results, I was ready for something different and for Alison to kick my butt. I was surprised at how much I learned while training with her- not only technique and possible moves, but also what my body was capable of- it was much more than I had previously thought possible! After working out with Alison, for the first time in my adult life I could see muscle tone in my arms and feel improvements in my overall strength- I finally learned what it felt like to “max out”! n the best exercise experience I’ve ever had! I actually found myself looking forward to working out, which rarely happens.
Alison is great at knowing what a person needs physically and mentally. She knows exactly when to push me, and when to take it a little easy on me. She’s given me so much variety in my work out, and my body isn’t stuck in a rut anymore.
The biggest test to know if your trainer is really helping you is to not see her for a few weeks. That’s happened recently, and I realized that my body misses exercise. I can definitely tell a difference in my energy level, endurance, and my overall mood since I’ve missed a few weeks of training.
I recommend Alison for Personal Training to any woman who needs emotional support, as well as a trainer that has extensive knowledge and understanding of the human body.

I was curious to see if personal training would give me the motivation to make fitness a viable part of my day… everyday. Alison combines one-on-one attention, careful listening and humor throughout each session to ensure that I understand the power of my own movement. I have discovered that even 15 minutes of proper movement using: weights, bands, and/or a stability ball combined with stretching can make a difference in my day. “Finding the time” to work out is no longer an excuse.
